Christiane “Chris” Farentinos is from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where she earned her medical degree at UERJ (Rio de Janeiro State University), completed her psychiatry residency at UFRJ (Rio de Janeiro Federal University), and practiced psychiatry before moving to Portland. In Portland, Chris pursued a career in substance abuse and mental health counseling, health care administration, training, and research, and held positions as Director and Chief Operations Officer for two community-based addictions and mental health clinics, as well as Vice-President for the largest local Psychiatric Hospital. While engaged in her professional career, Chris attended Portland State University and earned her Master of Public Health degree in Health Care Administration and Policy. Chris is a certified addictions counselor, a consultant, a national trainer in Motivational Interviewing, trained in DBT, CBT, mindfulness, trauma work and ACT, and is a Certified Professional Coactive Coach by the renowned Co-Active Training Institute in California and a member of the International Coaching Federation. Employing a warm and strength-base approach Chris enjoys helping individuals transform in the pursuit of a life of wellness, fulfillment, and purpose.
